Laneville Yellowjackets to State...again!

As most of you probably well know, one of my very best friends, Brian Nichols, is the head basketball coach / elementary principal at Laneville ISD in East Texas.

The basketball tradition in the small town is strong. Brian has been coaching at Laneville for several years now. He took his team to the State Tournament in Austin last year, but lost to Nazareth in the championship game.

Well, as you can see below, Brian and his boys have done it again! They won the regional tournament this past weekend and are making another trip to the Big Show in Austin. They play their first game in the State Tournament tonight versus Rule ISD. If they win, they will play again on Saturday for the State Title. (Jessica and I are driving to Austin today to watch!)

Family Pics from December 2007

We went to Nacogdoches after Christmas to have some professional family photos made. In all honesty, I don't think we have every had any "family" pictures taken before. So, we dressed in our white shirts and ventured to town not knowing what to expect....surprisingly, we ended up having a lot of fun (with lots of laughs!)!

As you can see, the below photos are of my side of the family...maybe we can get Jessica's family together soon to do the same.

We took these pictures this morning before heading to work...Jessica is starting to get really uncomfortable right now....kicking in the ribs, charlie horses in the legs, sinus issues when she lays down, constant stretching, etc....crazy! I'm not quite sure how the female body can do all this amazing stuff!

However, I must say, she is handling it as gracefully as possible. When she feels really bad, one mention of her little boy and a smile comes across her face! She is a great sport...

Jessica's Feeling Crafty Tonight

Jessica has taken it upon herself to create some cool things for Jaxson's room. Tonight she bought some cut out wood letters, light blue paint, and a metal decoration thingy.....once she was all said and done, it turned out pretty cool! The letters are on magnets so that we can move them around!

So, after she finished, I decided to get "crafty" myself....I took the pictures and made an animation of them! See below!

We managed to successfully put together the baby crib tonight! Now, we just have to get a mattress and put on the sheets!

Happy Valentine's Day

Well, I hope all of you out there had a great Valentine's Day. We took it pretty easy around here...we exchanged cards, chocolates, and went out for Mexican food at lunch. All in all, it was a pretty relaxing day here.

We ended up staying in East Texas for New Year's Eve. There was a big party in Rusk that we attended and ended up having a TON of fun! Jessica's parents, her friends, her friends' parents, and even good ol' Brian was there!

We planned on staying until around 10 PM or so since Jessica wouldn't be allowed to partake in the bubbly, but after she started talking with her friends, laughing, and describing the baby we stayed REAL LATE! I think it is safe to say that Jessica and I started 2008 off just right!

Well, as you can see I am a little behind on my blogging! Below are some Christmas Pictures from a few weeks ago.

Jessica and I spent a little over at week at home and had a BLAST! There was so much to do that we ended up staying longer than we ever expected. It was ONE FELIZ NAVIDAD!

Well, law school finals are finally over! My last test was on my birthday, Dec. 12, from 6 - 10 PM...YUCK!

Anyway, I got home about 10:30 that night and Jessica surprised me with this huge birthday cake and presents! IT WAS DEEEEEEEE-LICIOUS!

IT'S A BOY!!!!!

Hello All!

Today has been one of the absolute best days of my entire life!

We went to the doctor today for our 20-week ultrasound and found out that we were having a BOY! After some gentle persuasion, our little fellow let us see right where it counts! While the nurse wouldn't say 100% sure if it was a boy, she stated that in her opinion it was as much as a boy as she had ever seen! HAHA! So, needless to say, we feel pretty dang confident about the sex of the baby!

However, since I don't want my son (yes, I said "my son") to be black-mailed with naked pictures by some of you dirty rotten scoundrels in the future (HA!), I have chosen to keep the "money shots" off the blog for now. (I figured if anyone is going to use those as ammo for future embarrassment, it is going to be his parents! HAHA!!!!!)

Well, the weeks are flying by and things are really starting to change! Jessica's stomach hasn't really grown too much over the past several months. However, we get the feeling that is about to change very quickly!

Jessica's Big 3-0!!!!

Well, the big 3-0 birthday bash wasn't what we all had imagined (due to her expecting condition, of course!)! Instead of partying and having a huge celebration, we settled for a pretty quiet and low key weekend.

However, as you know the two of us, we still had a lot of fun together!

Belated B-Day for Mama Shelia!

Mama Shelia and Papa Joe were in Houston on October 3. So, Jessica and I took mom out for a nice seafood dinner for her belated birthday.

Once we got home, we surprised her with a birthday cake and a birthday card from her future grandchild....check out the pics.

Baby Corley - Week 11 Update

We went in for our check-up this morning and the doctor performed another Ultrasound for us! As you can see, we have come a long way in the past month!

The doctor says all things are looking good for now! So, Mom, Dad, Baby, and future Big Brother Austin are excited!

Houston, we have a HEARTBEAT!

Well, as you can see from the attached pictures, we are expecting our first BABY! We went to the doctor today and could see a little flashing heartbeat!
