Cindo De Mayo Weekend

CINCO DE MAYO WEEKEND!

Mom, Dad, Gina, and Jo Lynn all came down to visit Jessica and me this weekend. As you can see, we had a lot of fun! We spent the weekend exploring Clear Lake, shopping, and eating good fun (did I mention we laughed a lot too?).

Kaden Nichols Update

Jessica and I went to Texas Children's Hospital this weekend to pay Mr. Kaden a visit. He was sleeping quite a bit (with the occasional full body stretch!). Not much had changed with him at the time, but I got word today (Sunday) that things were looking UP!!!!

His intestines are showing some VERY positive signs of working properly. So, needless to say, Brian and Heather are feeling better about things. Kaden still has some hurdles to jump before heading to East Texas, but I'm sure Mr. Terry can save introducing him to the log trucks and skidders until he feels 100%!

2007 Astros Home Opener

Jessica and I went to the 2007 Astros Home Opener this year! We went with some friends and sat down at the Patio Restaurant in Center Field. WHAT GREAT SEATS!

Roy Oswalt pitched 8 innings (see him warming up below), but I guess that wasn't enough (Brad Lidge gave up a 2-1 lead in the 9th - a home run). The Astros lost, but that didn't stop us from having a great time!

Heck, we even had a brief minute on television as Luke Scott pounded a home run right into our section! No....I didn't get the ball!

A new Nichols has Arrived!!!

Brian and Heather Nichols are pleased to announce the arrival of their son, Mr. Kaden Nichols! The new baby boy arrived today, March 20, 2007 and is doing great!

He is currently at the Texas Children's Hospital in Houston. Mom, Dad, and Big Sis, Kristene, are all doing great!

Laneville Yellowjackets

Brian Nichols is the head coach of the Laneville Yellowjackets. This year, he took his team all the way to the Texas High School Basketball Championships! Laneville ended up losing the state championship game, but they sure did have one heck of a season!

Rick Perry, Governor of Texas, presented Brian and his team with the silver medals...see the top photo. Perry is on the far left (back facing the camera) and Brian is on the far right (facing us).

Jessica and I really enjoyed watching the games and then we went out in Austin for the rest of the evening!

The Rocket Club is my home away from home!

Jessica and I recently went to training in Wallops Island, Virginia for 2 weeks. NASA has a base there that is shared with the Air Force. So, even though we were in a classroom most of the time, we still saw several jets and helicopters flying around.

BUT....the best thing is that this base has a bar on-site! They have dorm rooms at Wallops (more like little hotel rooms), so there is rarely a need to leave the base. So, after dinner we all would just slide over to the "Rocket Club" for some libations and darts!

Viva La Mexico!

We went to Cancun, Mexico last Thursday for a long weekend. We took the trip with some friends from Clear Lake. Needless to say, we had a blast! The weather wasn't perfect, but when you are sitting in Mexico at an all inclusive resort....WHO CARES!? Check out the below pictures and video clip of the hombre making us Mexican Cafe con Tequila! Merry Christmas to US!

Well, since we are now married, I guess this is what we have to look forward to.....for Christmas, Jessica and I agreed to buy each other a new range/microwave set for the kitchen. So, we picked it out a few days ago and Sears delivered it to us this week.....is this what happens when you get old? HA!

Happy New Year Fun...

Well, it had been raining in Houston over the holidays and we let Austin out on January 1 to go to the bathroom for a few minutes. Next thing we knew, the little sucker looked like this! He loves running up and down the fence barking/playing with the dog next door. Needless to say, it took us a while to scrub him clean!
